Lost
on the road
to nowhere,
heart in
hand
searching
for the
soul
once
bright
with
innocence
from
somewhere
the light
beckons
a reminder:
don't give up-
there's still
much to
do

Kathi, your poem here is a wonderful companion piece to the book I've been reading all day: SLOW LOVE by Dominique Browning.
By that I mean: Dominique Browning also writes about lostness, her road being blocked by unemployment, after divorce, after a relationship that never got off the ground. "From somewhere the light beckons"--I think one of the reasons we all love reading is that it's a way to see the light beckoning.
Yes! I just read a very funny memoir called I'm Down by Mishna Wolff. I don't usually care much for memoir because I find much of it is either saccharine and self indulgent or "woe is me that I had such a terrible life," but I laughed all the way through this one. I also read the novel, One Day, and it's good, too. I have to get to the book store before I leave for Indianapolis or it will be a very long drive!
